Essay
Abstract
In his books, Peter Wohlleben alleges that trees are intelligent and sentient beings, capable of feelings and suffering. This view contradicts established scientific facts but also finds resonance with many readers. What does this imply for the future of forest management? And how can the forestry sector respond to this fascination with the sentience of trees? This essay concludes with suggestions for improving communication within the forestry sector and with society at large.
